DIET की स्थापना वर्ष 1993 में की गई थी। DIET की स्थापना का उद्देश्य शिक्षकों और अन्य हितधारकों को शैक्षिक जगत के सभी नवीनतम विकास से अवगत रखना है। अपनी स्थापना के बाद से ही DIET हाथरस सर्व शिक्षा अभियान के तत्वावधान में विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में सेवारत और सेवापूर्व शिक्षकों को प्रशिक्षण प्रदान कर रहा है। हाल के दिनों में DIET का दायरा बुनियादी शिक्षा से लेकर माध्यमिक शिक्षा तक बढ़ा दिया गया है। एससीईआरटी और राज्य परियोजना कार्यालय लखनऊ से प्राप्त निर्देश के अनुसार DIET हाथरस विभिन्न सेमिनारों, संगोष्ठियों, कार्यशालाओं और प्रशिक्षणों के माध्यम से नवीन विचारों को बढ़ावा देने की राह पर है।
